What sort of MN-12's are invited? How about some Mark VIII's? Please post some info at www.markviii.org in the events section.. I'm sure a few will want to show up.

Mike,
Yes all MN12's are invited, SCs, LXs and Mark VIII most definately. I am a member of LOD, but still need to acquire that special MN12, after my fast approching mid-life crisis. In the mean time its brawling with the less sophisticated, but just as brutal Blown V6.
I will post at the LOD websire and also distribute flyers at Carlisle.

Kurt:
My wife Kathy & I are planning to attend and need to know when you are planning for people to arrive and depart. What I mean is what nights should people be making hotel reservations for ? Friday, Saturday & Sunday or just Friday & Saturday ?
Please post something concerning the activities and maybe that will give me a better idea.
Thanks, David
PS: When are we having the Burnout Contest?

David,
If it matters, I'll be heading down on Friday and probably head home on Sunday. Depending on the Friday activities, will determine my departure time on Friday (vacation day, half-day, or leave after work).

Thanks Kurt & Kurt, I made reservations for Friday and Saturday with a Sunday checkout.

PS: Kurt K. let me know where you want to meet for the caravan.
I know many are eager to know what's going to go down in the First MN12 Nationals.
Here's a general outline for now, a detailed itinerary will follow soon with a e-mailable flyer that will be posted on a site.
The Ramada Inn in Norman is the place and rooms are filling up.
Recommended dates for arrival are Friday, 30 August from noon to 5 PM.
Parking lot gathering, a cruise to a good and cheap eatery that can handle the mass of folks. Then its video watching and beverage consumption in the Conference room of the Ramada.
Saturday begins early with a performance knowledge clinic with famous SC figures like GLDiii, Fred 4 pt 3, and others from TCCoA and LOD that we hope to have confirmed. The MN12 burnout contest will follow on the grounds of the RAMADA with their permission already granted. Upon the smoke clearing we will convoy to the track in Norman for MN12 class 1/4 mile track runs that will last until we can't stand it anymore.
Saturday night its Dinner in groupings at one or more locations followed by more video feeds in the RAMADA conference room for review of track action and burnout shows.
Sunday, 2 Sep its breakfast, awards presentations, and a raffle of performance parts based on raffle tickets sold as a means of covering cost of renting conference room, getting free Keg of beer for all, and other things we will give out in a goody bag. (Not to worry folks, the SCCoSW gang does not believe in making profit in any event so this will be no different, only to cover transparent costs). We will wrap it up by 11 AM say our good-byes and hopefully pick the date and location for the 2d National meet in 2002. And you still have Labor day to recover from driving and wiping off the grin on your faces all the way home!
Like I said, this is the general outline, more will follow. Two nights at the RAMADA will run you $88 plus tax. That is very reasonable. Two people in a room is the same price too.
Some of us like Kurt Sunday and me will get there on Thursday 29 to begin setting up for this killer event. If you are interested in getting there early and help out, let me know at Huberg@benning.army.mil
Look forward to smoking those MN12s with all of you out there.
