I went out to my car, pushed the clutch in, turned the key... and ONCE AGAIN have no cranking. I checked some connections and the sensor that is on the clutch pedal looks ok... a friend told me it is likely a faulty switch in the ignition.... if so is it under a recall and am I eligible?

I'd say starter...beat on it a couple of times with a hammer...should keep you going till you get a new one. or just buy one now....

I'd say its probably the solenoid. What happens when you turn the key? can you hear a click? I've had a few problems like that from bad solenoid, dead starter, bad ground. oh, did your factory alarm go off? that'll inhibit starting! A tire shop did that to me once, I was scratching my head for a while that time.

edit: click click no starting, title of the post
