Egr Ce Light

When I stuck the engine back in the car I blocked off the egr with a plate & capped the manifold port. I read that if I just left the electronics plugged in I shouldn't have a problem, however I am getting a CE light. I will eventually get the EGR deleted from my eec, but not for a while.
Now my question is this: Am I going to hurt anything by running the car with this problem? I just rebuilt my motor & want to get a few miles on it.

you should be ok as long as you plugged off the vacume lines that went to the controller.

i get a low egr flow code now, and i think it has to do with the long tubes.

you should be fine tho the computer wont really change much if anything at all.
