Hey all, after a great time with my T-Bird, I feel like it's time to part ways. She's been very good to me, but I simply don't have the desire or the resources to make her look/run the way she should, so I'm putting her up for sale. Here are the specs

Titanium Frost Metallic/Black Cloth (good bolsters, no burns, perfect carpet and dash)
129,xxx miles (approx. 102,000 on motor)
New parts:
180* thermostat
Starter
Battery
Front Springs
Front brakes/rotors/proportioning valve/lines/master cylinder
Rear brakes and rotors.
Windsheild and hood
Tires (Yokohama Avid V4 front 85%, Sumitomo Srixon4 rear 90%)
Valvoline DuraBlend 10W-30 every 3000 miles.
Serpentine belts

Known problems (minor)
Car runs and drives well, but heats up in heavy traffic, cannot get the fan to kick on, probably just needs a new motor or work on the IRCM, but many people on here wire in manual switches so...
Will need rear wheel bearings soon, car get's a little squirrely on the highway around bends.
Small leak from passenger side valve cover, but no damage to HGs.
Small dents on roof from mishap with hood latch (has new latch and hood now). These dents can be popped out easily by removing the headliner and getting paintless dent removal.
Car has small rust bubbles (not broken through) under passenger side 3/4 window (size of a pea) and behind driver's side door (about the size of a quarter)

The car does not have plates or a registration on it, and was inspected until 7/04, but it passed previous inspection no problem, so it would prob. need towed. If you are interested, I am located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My asking price is $1750 or reasonable offer, considering the new parts on this car and the physical condition it is in for a 1990. Also, feel free to e-mail me at TBirdSC1990@comcast.net and I will send you pictures as they are too big to list on here.

I would love to see this car goto someone who is looking for a minor project car, because she still has plenty of life and potential, but with school loans and other things, it's just not practical for me to hang on to it. Please let me know if you are interested. Thank you.

Well I have decided that $3000 is way too much to ask for the car because I haven't gotten any replies, so I am lowering to $2000 obo. I really don't see myself getting any progress on the car and I just wanna clear my garage out, so if anyone has any interest in the car, please let me know TBirdSC1990@comcast.net, it's a good car, it just needs a good owner to make it right.

Very Interested, Can You Send Me Some Pics.? ksbw5@sbcglobal.net
I mainly want to know about rust, specifically floor pans and rocker panels. I don't expect perfection, but I also don't want a rust problem.
I love these cars and would give it a good home. :)

Hey Wes,

Just thought I'd give you a bit of advice here regarding these cars. At 15, this is not really the best choice of car for your first ride. The supercharged V6 provides ALOT of horsepower and speed and, if not respected, can result in serious or fatal injuries, not only to yourself, but to other people sharing the road.
Secondly, the maintenance on these cars requires a bit more than what you would find on a non supercharged engine. If you do not have experience with engines and mechanics, these cars can quickly turn into a money pit that will drain your bank account in short order.
A regular 3.8L T-Bird or Cougar would make a much better choice for a first car. Plus, if you got a "regular" T-Bird, you could easily add the ground effects from a Super Coupe to the car to perk up the looks department. ;)
I just hate to see any young person with a passion for cars such as you make an unwise decision at a young age that could turn him off permanantly from the automotive craze. But more than that, I'd hate to see a young person with so much potential in life climb into a car that has more power than he can handle and ruin his future. We need all the young people we can keep! ;) :D
Like I said, just some advice. Take it from someone who has a 17 year old boy learning to drive.   God help us all!!!!!

i know...my dad has one...ive been into speed pretty much my whole life, but i also know theres a time to use it and when not to use it unlike alot of the ppl im friends with, ive had expeirience in speed and i have had friends that have gotten hurt pretty bad..my dad 40 years old and been a mechanic 22 out of them years...ive been out rebuilding engines with him since i was 8 years old...and its not really my first car, i just bought a 78 ranchero gt about 3 months ago to restore and im rebuildin a 390 to put in it...my dad works at car x and can get everything at cost and hes willing to help me out...ive been readin all the problems these have been having like the head gaskets, tranny problems and the idle and the temp. sensors going bad...so im not really worried about the maintenence part..its just ever since my dad got his sc we took it out and i just cant get enough of it :p ...so im lookin for one myself

Wakin, I willl make sure to e-mail you some pics tomorrow of up close shots of the rust which is not bad at all for a 15 year old car, it's clear this car was a garage queen and that where she's slept in the 3 years I've had it.

Wes, I would definitely recommend a different first car than an SC. They are beautiful cars, but at times can be a handful, and if you don't have the time or money to keep up with them, then it could be trouble down the road. I will still send you pics as well though.

Thanks for the interest guys!

To the top. Noticed a gas leak above the tank, probably a split hose or something. $1750 but you gotta come tow or we can arrange for towing. I'll prob. drop the tank and fix this though. Lemme know people!

Come on guys, the car's basically serving as a place for my cat to sleep on. It needs little to be a great car.

$1750 I have title in hand.
