New Drag Strip.....Maybe

Saw this on the Mustang board. We might be getting a new drag strip around the 407/Brock Rd area. I have my doubts but you never know :confused:

I live fairly close to that area and I haven't seen or heard anything of the sort. Seems like just a rumour.

Well it's not the first time I have told about a new drag strip in that area.
It's true the goverment does own land out that way for what was to be a mega airport. I think my Dad said there was talk about building it 15 or 20 years ago. Since that time nothing has happened I know there was some more talk maybe 10 years ago and the goverment bought up the rest of the homes in the area. If you go driving in the area you will see some borded up homes and place where people are renting till there I guess told to leave.
I guess all we can do is hope this is true and for once we will have a near by track. I wounder if this has something to do with magna since there has been talk of him wanting to build a track up here.

The thing is they want to put a track in the "Mega City" to cut out all the street racing, do you really think these kids are going to take it to the track just because its close? hell no, at least I dont think so. I doubt they will put a track in, but it would be a good idea, I know there is a TON of drag racers here in Milton that travel to TMP or even Grand bend almost every weekend just to T&T thier cars.
