i need to do some body work on my car and was wondering if the windshield upper trim molding is reusable once taken off the car. any special adhesives needed to put it back on?

i presume it’s a simple removal process where you first take the side roof trim molding off first (for lack of better name) and then the windshield upper trim molding.

thanks,

Stan, those are held on with trim retainers rather than glue. The moulding should pull off, just be careful with it ... then hopefully the clips won't get damaged, and can be reused. Otherwise, new clips are about $3 each, a new moulding is about $42 if it gets damaged.

cheers,
Ed N.

I just changed mine over after the paint. New just seemed to look a whole lot better. I had a friend at a glass place remove all the trim for me. I didnt want to take any chances. I came off very easily, and went back on just as easy.
