what is this wire?

what is this wire, and where should it be? i think it has somethign to do with the guages, because before it was melted to the cat, and i blew fuses alot in the guage slot, then i took the exhaust off to put in the new motor, and i unstuck the wire from the cat, now no fuses blow but my guages dont light up either, any ideas?

Not sure what wire it is but get yourself one of those Haynes car manuals and look in the back for the wire diagrams and see if you track it down that way. If it was blowing the fuse for the gauges then try to see what wires come out of that by the diagrams. Should help.

I am not an expert on factory wiring, but it might be related to an aftermarket alarm that was installed, or an unknown aftermarket product that wasn't completly uninstlled..
