other styles

Those are nice wheels. Just wondering if there are other styles made by ADR that will fit our cars. I'm personally interested in a staggered set-up, like a 7-8" wide up front and 9-10" wide for the rears.

Thanks,
Brando

Brando, It would be a nice option but it is not one that is available. There are a few other wheels offered by ADR. It seems ADR makes a few wheels in our specs, some in 7" some in 8" & 8.5" but they don't make anything that you can stagger right now, and the widest wheel they make for us is the Sterling wheel in a 18X8.5. I chose the wheels that were 8" wide or wider. Anything less than 8" wide is too narrow IMO "Mostly because we like to run a 245MM+ wide tire and more times than not that is too wide for a 7" wheel even though some do it"...And really an 8" wide wheel is fine for a 275MM tire which is as wide as many want to go in the rears. Sure you can go wider, but 275MM is quite a bit of tire.

The Sterling is 8.5" wide which would be a great combination all the way around. They look great...I am soooo tempted to put a set on one of my own cars...haha

Feel free to email me with any questions you might have.

I'll second that. They are really light! They wiegh about the same as a the factory 17" LS rims that I had. My Cobra R's wiegh at least 2x what these do.

Cudaz? do you have site with all the rims you offer for the tbird? do you have anything similar to a BBS wheel?

Email me and I can send you the selection I have available. I don't really have anything that I would claim to emulate the looks of a BBS WHeel..But I do have a wheel that is light weight.

EMail me @ cudaz101@yahoo.com

Thanks for the inquiry.

Adr makes a bunch of different wheels that do look similar to the BBS, and they are perfect offset & size, but the catch is that you have to go to the Mustang bolt pattern, which runs about 500-600 bucks if you are not a machinist and use new parts. Still, not a bad amount of outlay to get some different looking wheels that can be sold later to one of the bazillion mustang owners out there.

I have the "M-sport classics" on my SC, but ADR also makes one that looks similar, but has twice the spokes. Very similar to the BBS wheels on Beemers.

What size did you go with??? I have been hounding them to do the M-Sports in a 5-108 but they are not biting at all...And...What did you pay for your wheels??? The M_Sport is one of their more $$$$ wheels.

Brad

I went with 18x8.5".

I don't think the 9.5" will fit with '92+ front spindles.

I searched Ebay for "Cheap" online deals and emailed the vendors to get quotes, then I took the best quote to my local discount tires branch. I walked out the door with 255-45 Nitto 555s on the M-sports for about $1600.00, balanced & with lug nuts. Pretty tight fit on the rear on a lowered SC.

I don't blame ADR for not going with the 108 mm size. Not many "performance" vehicles with this size.

Yea only Ferrari & Jaguar share this pattern...Not enough reason to drill them though. They drill them in some other styles, why not one more...That is my argument with them...

$400 a corner is pretty high...I do chrome 19's for less than that to your door... ;)

Brad

It doesn't look to be just drilling a new pattern. The way the hubs are made, it would take a new hub to allow the narrower pattern. I get the feeling that ADR only really cares about the Tuner/import market.

As far as expensive goes, if I was looking to go inexpensive, I probably wouldn't have built an SC! Every damn thing on them either takes twice as much work or 50% more $$$ to mod, or both! More swearing and bruised knuckles too!

I pretty much spent what I had to to get exactly what I wanted on the car with no compromises on everything from the motor to the suspension & brakes.

The ADRs were the lightest wheels I found, and I really liked the style much better than any of the other wheels on the market. I passed up a great deal on a set of chrome Cobra R's for a few reasons. I don't really personally like chrome wheels on non-metallic colored cars, the R's were nearly twice as heavy as the ADR's, and there are so many SC's with R's on them.

That's what makes building cars so cool. Trying to match the finished product with the picture you build in your head.

Actually it is as easy as Drilling them to 5-108...ALL of the ADR passenger wheel line has a center boar of 73MM...What that has to do with "HUBS" escapes me...This is not really a tech forum, but a hub is a hub...Aftermarket wheels for the most part are not made hubcentric since they are made to cator to the masses. That is why they drill the HUGE 73MM cetnerbore...The Tbird hubs are 63.90MM.

ADR cators to a wide range of applications and styles. But I would agree that they pay alot of attention to the Tuner Market, as well as the SUV market, as does any manufacturer that wants to stay in business and be competitive.

Brad

I don't want to hijack Blue's thread, but maybe I used the wrong term. I was not addressing the hubcentric issue.

When I said "Hub" I meant the entire center of the wheel from the machined center hole to where the hub of the wheel becomes spokes.

The way that the center is formed, there is no way that it is just a matter of a different drilling pattern. The lugs are deeply inset into the wheel face, and the inset hole has less than a 1mm clearance between the outside of a wrench socket and the wheel itself. Simply machining the relief closer to the center bore by 3mm and drilling a 5 x 108 pattern would put the inset relief partially underneath the center cap.

I'm not a machinist or a "Wheel" guy, but anybody with a ruler and the M-sport in front of them can tell that the center area (Hub) of the wheel would need to be changed to allow the smaller lug pattern.

I just don't want anyone getting the idea that ADR is blowing off the few of us that wanted the smaller pattern. Instead, there are actual limitations on the pattern size because of the design of the center portion of the M-Sport itself.

OK....Thanks for clearing that up a bit...I see exactly what you are saying now...And appreciate your comments.

The thing is that they COULD do it if they wanted to...And with nothing but Drilling...

They already do a 5-100 & 5-114.3...So there is no reason why you can't fit a 5-108 in there...

BTW...Who is BLUE??? This is my thread man...haha

Brad

Ah, for some reason your Blue tongue banner stuck in my head as the original poster's username.

The way that the 18 x 8.5 wheel center is, they must use a different sizing overall for the other patterns. I mean that dimensionally, the 120 mm pattern wheel has a bigger center section than the 114.3, and so on. I just measured mine again, and if the pattern radius was reduced by 7 mm plus, the lugs holes and relief would be into the machined center bore.

All I have seen so far is these wheels in an 18. Is it possible that they are hiding somewhere in a 17? Pleeeeeeeease? I saw this car on another site and HAD to check out the spinners on it. That led me to this site but to my dismay they are 18" wheels.

Chris

Yea they are available in 17" but they are 17X7 which IMO is too narrow for our cars. If you want to go with 17's it would be nice to get a lil wider stance along with the +1 wheel change. If you are interested in a 17X7 we can do something though. Hit me up on email...
