what type of trans fluid do our 5spd trannys take? autozone says to use like 85w90 gear oil. that doenst sound right. please help! i need to know asap! thanks guys!

No No

DO NOT put in 80w-90, the M5R2 takes just under 4 quarts of ATF. yes automatic transmission fluid. I may be wrong on the capacity but, make sure to go to FORD and get the friction modifier to add to the fluid. They will know what you are talking about. It takes 5 oz of the modifier and they sell it in4 oz bottles...go figure. But I recommend royal purple or mobil 1 full synthetic fluid. Good luck, and dont listen to auto zone haha.

I use GM syncromesh and love it. It will make your tranny shift really smooth. Before i put that in the car i just bought it would grind going into second now it shifts great and no grind.

Do you need to add the friction modifier in with the GM synromesh?
