Have a 89 that has the keyless pad on the drivers door, can I buy a aftermarket key transmitter and have it programmed with the code from the trunk area and have it work with the doors and trunk?
The stock 89 keyless entry system doesn't have a wireless receiver and so cannot work with a transmitter.
Having a keyless entry system does make it easier to install a remote opener since all the wires can be tapped into from one location.
