My last T-Bird SC had 265,000 miles with the original rad,
original heater core and head gaskets.
Oh, and for those who will say pure antifreeze will freeze...BS....I lived in Buffalo and ran the car in the winter
without ever having it freeze.
Wouldn't it be nice if they still didn't charge the same amount as for whole antifreeze?NMxr7SC said:Or you could buy the antifreeze that's already pre-mixed 50/50. Prestone makes it.
amen to that. that stuff is like $7 a jug. it costs even more when you do a flush, then change a serpentine belt, then blow headgaskets, then change to adifferent serpentine belt again all within 2 months!TbirdSCFan said:Wouldn't it be nice if they still didn't charge the same amount as for whole antifreeze?

Thanks, I will Maybe I'll try it at work insteadJStudrawa said:One neat thing I learned about distilled water from Myth Busters. They were testing the myth about the lady who put her coffee cup of water in the microwave and when she took it out and stirred it, it violently boiled and burned her.
Well, they tested tap water, purified, and filtered. All boil normally in the microwave and don't hurt you one bit. BUT they tried distilled after. Since it has no contaminants, there is nothing for the air molecules to form around to make it boil. Taking it out, putting a spoon in and BAMM! Instant volcano. Kinda neat, but don't try it at home
