No not me, but I am the store manager at the Goodyear in Leesburg! I just picked up the car this past Sunday in South Carolina and trailered it back. The car is not in the best of shape...yet :) The car needs some work, as it sits, not a bad daily driver but needs alot of trim work. I did the ft/rear bushings today, going to attack the leaking valve cover gaskets tomorrow and headliner by the end of the week and hopefully before the end of the month...off to body shop to get re-painted( paint is ok, but a little faded). Once the body and interior is done....then we will get to mods :) I want an 12 second SC and I will have it. :) If anyone needs anything from a Goodyear, look me up in Leesburg. I'll take care of club members C-YA! :D
I'll take some pics tomorrow when the sun/rain  is out!

I've had a few Jake. I find most of them on like CNN.com or something this particular one was a gift from a friend of Carla's.. Actually any pic will work they just need to be small enough to fit up there.

Congratulations on the SC Unclenick :) I look forward to meeting you at a future meet.
The SC looks good in the pictures. Where in SC did you pick the car up? Seems like a long way to go to get a SC... But not as far as RJ went to get his.
Welcome to out little corner of the world.

Well, fixed the oil leak from HELL today. Found a couple of bad things. Looks like a mouse had been living in the engine compartment....yep, got all sorts of exposed wires and some chewed up too. I reapired as many as I could find. I did both V-cover gaskets today, replaced all coolant hoses including by-pass mod and heater hoses. The car still has a very long way to go. It looks good in pics but it is in need of quite a bit of TLC. The worse thing is the brake problem, yep you guessed it....the master cylinder/abs pump is acting up. Sometimes I hit the brakes and no problem, then others the ABS and BRAKE lamps light up and the car has really crappy brakes. I need to fix this before anything else. Anyone got any suggestions? I called Prestige Ford today and the master/abs has been LONG discontinued. I picked up the car in South Carolina. Yea, kind of a far drive but need to do something away from the wife and kids for a day to collect my sanity...LOL...just kidding. :D
Do the brake and APS lights do a quick flash and then turn off? If so I might just be the Brake Accumulator (Black dome about 3” in dia)on the backside of the Master Cylinder. You can do a search on SCCOA for a replacement. Around $100 I think, I need one for the 89 I just started driving. If I find out anything I’ll let you know. There is also a rebuilt replacement for the Master/ ABS unit also but is around the $500 level I think.
If you need any SC parts new or Used give Victor or Diana at http://www.spinningwheels-sc.com/ a call, they are in Ocala. He told me today that he had a good used Master/ ABS unit on the shelf. They are in the process of redoing their web page so if you don’t see what you want give him or Diana a call or an e-mail. She is very well versed in SC parts also.
Looks like you had a good first day with the SC.

Yea, they flash on and off when applying the brake pedal, but this morning they stayed on and pedal was rock hard. I shut the car off and everything was fine until I hit the brake pedal again. It has not given me a hard pedal since this morning but the lights are coming on/off every time I hit the brake.
I don't know, maybe the pump stuck for a min. I might what to go though some of the SCCOA thread's and see what you can come up with. I've had a 93 SC which has a diff. brake system. So I'm only a few days ahead of you on this. Just started driving the 89 today, mine has worked great except for the light sometimes.
Anybody else have any idea's?

The quick on/off of the brake and ABS lights may be an indication of a bad brake accumulator. I believe Prior Remanufacturing makes a replacement for about $100. The Ford replacement accumulator is about $225 without a discount. When you turn the key on but you don't start the engine listen for the ABS pump to cycle. It should run for up to 1 minute to pressurize the system. Once it stops running step on the brake pedal several times counting the number of times you have to step on the pedal to get the pump to start running again. I believe it should take like 5 times before the pump pressurizes the system again. The hard brake pedal may be a sign of the pump failing or the pump relay may be bad. Do a search on here for information on the TEVES II ABS system. Duffy Floyd did a complete explanation on the operation of the system some time ago. Really excellent reading on the system. If you can't find his explanation of the system, let me know so I can dig up the copy of Charging Thunder with the article and scan it if need be.

kamakazie_1, man that is close. I live off East Crooked Lake Drive. :-)
I am going to look into getting rid of this crappy brake system today. I think if I get a NON-ABS master and a NON-ABS brake booster and make a few brake lines I'll be ok. I don't need ABS, and from what I am reading, it is a crappy system anyways.
I am going to check the relays and see if the ABS pump is coming on when I start the car, if not...it is going to the scrap heap with the ABS.
I have built street rods with no power assist and have made power setups before. This should not be that hard......
Oh the project begins with a headache already....LOL :D

The treves system was quite ahead of it's time when that car was new. I don't know if anyone has by-passed the system out there or not. The brakes on these cars are already way under powered to start with considering their weight, a rebuilt ABS from Prior Mfg would probably cause you less headaches in the long run and retain the integrity of the car. I put one in Beedogg91's car last year and I think the final cost was about $400 for a complete new system.. 4 bolts a couple of lines and your done and working like new, probably for the rest of the life of the car..
Thomas is in those apartments right there behind Wal-Mart, I can't remember the name of them right off the top of my head. He'd told me he saw another SC the other day, it might have been yours... Rick (Sweet90SC) is right up the road from ya there too... Get her together and maybe you can make the next meet with us.. The weather is getting better now and we should be able to start getting out more.. good luck with the project..

Yep, that's the Goodyear I work at!
Yea, that was probably me. I have been driving the ***** out of the beast the last couple of days.
Todays work on car was to straighten out the vac mess under dash, the a/c only blew out the defroster vents. Found a clogged vac line to head unit, now works fine. ;)
I am going to leave the ABS on the car, having a hellva time finding one aftermarket. Spinning Wheels don't have one, NAPA, Carquest nor Tropical could find one.
Once I get all mechanical problems solved.....off to body shop she'll go.
The meet thing would be cool, I used to be events coordniator for the SFFBC(South Florida F-Body Club) for 3 years. I kind of miss the meets. :-)
Let ya all know more as I work on the car tomorrow!
Project SC continues...........

Do you need a lift? We close the store on Sat at 12pm, so an open lift is available. Mush eaiser doing clutch in air then on ground. :)
Let me know, I might be staying after on Sat to work on my SC if I get rid of this damn cold I got two days ago.
(352)787-2144-Goodyear phone Number.....I am always there :)
On a brighter note, got the headliner and visors off to the trim shop today, next week will be the two ft seats. It is at this time I will install new acculmator/abs unit. I found one today and is on the way.
I tell you what is expensive for this car..... The black moulding around the windshield. My cost for ft strip, $50, the two on rear window, $45.00 each, then I ordered the new door strips. Next week I'll order the bupmer covers unless I find some good used ones locally.
Day four with "Project SC"....the saga continues....
Holy Man, you seem to be blowing though that SC. Should be like new in no time at all. :D :D
Installed my new Brake Accumulator today, fixed problem with the brakes. Everything working great.

Unclenick, the best place and the only place I know of is Prior Mfg. Damn, can't find the number anywhere here... Flip, Bryan can one of you give him the number to Prior so he can get those brakes fixed..
Rick do I dare ask why you have oil under the car??

Me too :) No more brake problem. I also discovered the electrical part of the ignition switch was bad today and installed a new one too. No more shorting out acc or information panel.
There is still plenty of work to do to the beast, trust me....
At least she is now running and stopping good now.
Give me two months, she'll be one bad SC in Lake County.

I don't know what it is RJ. I don't seem to be low on oil. I can't crawl under the frappin thing to look and as we all know it wont start  I guess what I'll do is have the guys take a looksie when they change the crank sensor... I'm sure it is not out of the top end anywhere thats all clean.. and from the location I may be looking at the rear main. I thought It might be brake fluid because of the fluid loss I was having but I checked it on a white towel and it's oil. Tasted like Valvoline 10w40 1998 a good year :D you just have to let it breath a bit first

Hey unclenick,
The wife and I ended going for a Sunday drive in the (Her) 89 and ended up in Leesburg. Stopped by your Goodyear but it was such a nice day you must of been driving your SC. Must of been around 1:30 or so. Catch up with you next time.
Rick,
Thought about looking you up, but no idea were you are up there.
