Cam installation question? re: rear freeze plug

Hi guys, I'm about to put the stock cam back in.

I have the cam bearings in, and was wondering about that rear freeze plug thing that goes behind the cam. How far do I press it in? just a little?

And, what stops the cam from bumping up against that freeze plug?

Press the plug in until its edge is flush with the bottom of the chamfer on the cam bore. The thrust plate at the FRONT of the block behind the cam sprocket prevents the cam from walking too far into the block.

thanks for the reply. So, just to clarify, it's the timing chain and crank that holds the cam towards the front of the motor, and it's the trust plate on the cam that stops it from going too far forward... So there's no rearward motion to the cam.

Therefore, just make sure that the freeze plug is not in contact with the cam and i'm ok? cool, thanks.

p.s. I also asked in the other post regarding assembly lube, I read a post where you recomended an AOD rebuild book to someone rebuilding their automatic transmission. Could you tell me which book that was? thanks.
