With this mild cold front that just passed through you should run the SC a few passes, I bet you would see a difference.
What is your best time so far Flip and what was the temp?

$125 to run tonight, think I'll pass. Fastest so far is 15.1 / 93 mph I think@ about 96 degrees that night. Need cold air intake big time, getting ready to work on one now. I still have the stock gears @ 2.73 and like them (love the Hwy Speed) That is my biggest drawback. Might go to 3.27 ??? Cool air with this setup I should be able to get mid 14's, what do you think?

I would think lower gears and some drag radials you would see 14.6 or maybe better in this weather. Yeah I agree $125 is a little much, something special going on up there?

Well, you weren't asking me, but.... I think you should be able to get mid 14's now. You're running 93 mph in 96 degrees so if you can drop your 60 ft to 2.0-2.1 you should be good. I've heard the thumb rule is .2 off your 1/4 e.t. for every .1 drop off your 60 ft e.t. What was your 60ft? I'm guessing at least 2.3.
That's my opinion, but you should probably take Jake's advice since he's running over a second faster than me. :o

OSW is called the ice rink for a reason...no one makes a good 60 foot time...but the traps are usually high. Flip's car the night he rean the 15.1's wasn't really gripping all that great...on street tires and stock tire pressure.

Jake, it's the World Street Nationals.

Had a great time. Lot’s of cars I think they said they had somewhere around 150 show up to race. Man, 8 sec. car after 8 sec car with some 9, 10, tossed in there also. 11 sec, when they broke part way down. Very cool to go though the pits, the traveling money was just unbelievable with some of the 45’ traveling shops. Expensive hobby that this level, might go back on Sunday for the finals.

TJ, did you go?

If only these guys could get some good 60 ft times, they'd be in the 7's. :p

It'll never happen at street pressure. What were the short times anyhow?

BTW, I went to the what I believe was the first street nationals at OSW in 1987. Back then it was basically a muscle car show, there were tons of cars, I was number 400 something. I lost in the semi's of the bracket racing to a 69' 302 Z28. I won 7 or 8 races. A lot of people had never raced at a track before and were treating it like a burnout contest. :D I had a 69' Mustang with a 302 running mid 14's. It was a lot of fun beating big blocks because they didn't know how to race.

XR7Kurt do you still have that 69 302? Those are worth alot of money now.

I didn't have the Z28, I had the Mustang. My Mustang was a fastback that originally came with a 250 c.i. six cylinder, so it had 5 lugs and an 8 inch rear. I later put a Cleveland/9 inch/C-6 and a whole bunch of other stuff. It was faster than the 302, but I did too much at once and never really got it all working together before I got married. So it mostly sat for a few years until I sold it 5 or 6 years ago.

And I thought the closest strip was in Gainsville. I have to get out there in a month or so, after the car is fit for drag duty. So it's $10 to get in every night? $5 to street drag? How packed is it and what is the best night to go out? Would love to see some other SCs as well.

I used to go all the time...just don't have a car now. FordMan03 and I were regulars on a wednesday night. People down at FPF were asking about the two of us because they recognized us from OSW.

I don't have a car to run at the moment and he really isn't into it anymore.

I'll let him field this one...overall the car is pretty shot. He browses the boards...so hopefully he can give details...
