Miles,

Ed can confirm this, but the last I heard, Ford up'd the price on the stock units (if they're still available), and it's now very comparable to the overall costs of getting a BHJ unit. If the cost is even within $150 CDN, then I would strongly recommend you buy a new BHJ unit.

Best regards,

Sean

Hey Miles

You almost always get a quicker response from me on a "price check" if you send me an email or p.m. directly. ;)

I'll take a look when I'm back at the dealership tomorrow, but as Dave mentioned, I think the 89 - 93 balancers are still around $550.

Nice to hear that you'll be in town, maybe we'll do a Sunday afternoon meet in a central Toronto location, if that fits your schedule. Are you staying with friends while you're here? Make sure you give me a call when you make into town, 647-226-9107 is my cell #.

cheers,
Ed N.

If you want to kept the car buy the BHJ it's well worth your money. If you were to see the last two stocker I have seen you would lose what ever you had to eat last seeing how bad they have become over time. :(

Miles, just FYI ... I don't have that balancer on the shelf here at the dealership, it would need to be ordered.

So if you do want to grab a new Ford unit, I'll need a day's notice anyway.

Looking forward to meeting up with you. :)

cheers,
Ed N.

The stocker should last you about 200,000 KM's or so. And its ligther, so you don't waste up as much HP just spinning it. But if you want to never really have any troubles, say if you need to remove, and re-install your balancer, then the BHJ is the way to go.
