When I shift into drive...

... the car doesn't move until I give it some gas. I believe the norm is for the car to begin moving forward the moment it is in drive. I recently had the AOD rebuilt with a shift kit and other than this all seems fine.

Should I be worried? Idle seems fine, too...

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Could be something with the brakes...
I had this same thing with my former car (Chevy Stepside Pickup).
The brakes were dragging and I needed to hit the gas to get that truck going. After I fixed the brakes it moved ahead immediately when I depressed the brake.

Good luck. And let me know how it turned out and what it was!!

AOD problem

What he said about the brakes draggen might be a problem but just leave the car off and in neutral and try to push it and you will see you should be able to push it.

Another option would be low fluid. You really need to check this exspecially after a rebuild. So check that fluid level when the car is warmed up but don't drive the car it would be worse on the tranny and would burn it up.

Well did it do this right after the rebuild and ever since or did it just start?
