I am replacing my thermostat and I have a question for anyone who knows. What is wire/boot that is connected to the housing that holds the thermostat? Does it go to the engine temperature dial on the instrument cluster? The reason I ask is because the boot and wire has a big split in it where it connects. Plus my temp dial does not get above cold. I would guess that this would be the reason if that wire is the culprit. Is it very difficult to replace that. Please help!
