Looking for free HP

first remove the air silencer, this will be your only free hp. Then remove as much weight out of the car as possible.
 
You could also take off your exhaust from the exhaust manifolds and port out that lip and the end of the exhaust manifold.
 
The work scope on this sounds easy to do.....

How often is it recommended to change the filter element?
 
There really is'nt any timeframe set in stone on that. The enviromental conditions in which you drive your car in dictate that, as you should know. :)

Never(if you have an K&N :p ) j/k
thanks for posting the link about the air box. I have to fight my k&n to close the top now I know you have to file the box a little.

Would'nt cleaning the element qauntify as changing the element?
After all you'll wait longer for that element to dry after washing it than it takes to throw a new element in. :p
