Clutch pedal play

The pin that engages the rod on my clutch master cylinder has a deep groove worn in it (friction between the eye of the shaft). As a result, I have about 2" of pedal travel before I feel any resistance. Has anyone had this same problem? I attempted to remove the pedal, but you have to be a contortionist to get to the bolt. Please help!!

well

slip a piece of rubber hose over the etched pin-itll take the place of the stock retaining collar, and cushion the metal parts so that they wont wear any more-then use a wire tie or a clip or safety wire to keep it from sliding off the rod-that should fix the slop you have-not only is it unpleasant, its bad for the trans if the clutch doesnt engage fully.
