Can the filter on my Pro-M 77mm MAFS be cleaned w/ water like a K&N? It looks like a K&N w/ that cotton stuff. Is it safe to use water to clean it?

Yes. You are actually supposed to clean it with the K&N air filter cleaner and then wash it out with water.
