Last Sunday my 92 SC just quit running when i was driving. Just today i found out the motor is frozen and new to replace it. Most people i know say i should just toss my SC & get an new car. but a big part of me wants to keep it and fix it up. What do you guys think.please let me know. :(

If I lived in Hawaii, I'd sell the SC and get a Jeep.

Well your SC looks pretty good on your members page. I would say drop a new engine in that baby.

How many sc's do you see on the island over there? My guess is not many.
I would keep it and replace or rebuild it then you will know what you have and you SHOULD be able to alot more yrs out it.You'll miss it if you get rid of it i promise ya.Now it will also depend on your situation as far as money and is this you only means of transportation.

Keep it and fix it up.....On Oahu, looks is better that speed :D
What's the condition of the body......i.e. RUST!!!
Your 12 year old car, driven in the salty conditions of your environment and is in good shape will be a rare bird indeed.

Seriously...If I lived on a tropical island like Hawaii, an SC is the last car in the world I would want. I'd much rather have something that I could go anywhere on the island with like the beach, jungle and mountians. Not to mention needing something to get away from the lava.
I'd be owning a stock dependable daily driver Jeep or similar SUV and enjoying all the natural (includes bikini clad) beauty of the island instead of importing expensive parts to keep an SC on the road. Don't get me wrong, I love my SCs...but where you live, there must be better things to spend your time and money on.

i live on oahu too. i love havin the sc as a daily driver (even though my centerforce clutch just went out).might find an engine at abes in pearlcity or just call around. shouldent be that hard to find one. if u need some help with work on the car, get a hold of me,u just provide the beer.
