Did you hit the starter with a big hammer ....when jumping it? ....
sounds like a familiar..starter problem
check the starter /solenoid
see if you can use battery cables.... to jump start your car @ starter solenoid {starter}...you can on a 90 not sure on 95..clean the contacts
they can get pretty corrorded ...dave

Once its running Ryan have you confirmed the alt is ok by removing your negative wire if it stalls your alt is no good, another maybe a volt meter on the battery when your car is running check for volts at idle should be over 12.
then give it a rev of the motor and it should even higher numbers then at idle. at is if you haven't done this already staying on the cheap,at least for trouble shooting.

I have checked all ground straps its not them. I had a look at the headlight swicth and multifunctio switch as well last night-both are fine. all fuses have been checked. the power box in the engine bay has been checked-and is ok. Dave, I didn't get the jack out to look at the starter. To cold go get on my back!!!

So I wanted to see if a different battery would help this problem out. It did. :) It seems as the battery I was using has a bad cell, or something. It came out of Kendra's car. Which has sat for a long time, and the battery is about 16 months old. But with the lack of use over thos emonths, it looks as if that has taken a toll on it. I'm in need of a new battery, I'm hoping to get one of the smaller/lighter units such as Peter Roy has done already. I have to use a battery jumper to start my car, but thats because the battery is froma car with a lot less CCA than our cars require to start it.

Anyways, thanks for the help and suggestions.

Peter: if you see this, can PM the details of that battery you are suing, thanks.
