... Do all AMERICAN XR7's and S/C's come with the tracked seat belt on the drivers side? back in 1990 my parents bought a brand new 1989 XR7 and it had a standard style seatbelt. my neighbour also has a 1990 XR7 with standard seatbelt. both are canadian cars. bought and stayed.

every XR7 of S/C i see on this board either has the tracked seatbelt or i didn't see the assembly. was it just an option, or an american thing?

I think it was a US only set up. In the Helms manuals they show and describe both setups. I converted my auto track ones to the manual style that you are talking about. I just did not like the auto seat belt.

Hey Super,

Can ya give some feedback on the changeover. I cant stand the power belts. They are a PIA. I would love to get rid of them. Thanks

I am in the process of changing over my 89 interior to a 94. The only issue was that I had to redrill the top seat belt mount on the post behind the front seats. The existing mount that was in the car was about 2" lower. I also had to make a tapped bushing and mounted it behind the newly drilled hole to give the mount the necassary strength. And of course you will need to get new trim.
