If I port match and polish just my intake manifold, heads and factory exhaust manifold, eliminate the first two cats, and gut the third, what kind of problem might I run into. I know on old cars you could do that without getting a bigger carb (even though it helped) and still up your power considerably. Just want to make sure I am no going to mess something up big time by increasing the flow through the top of the motor without upping the injectors, MAF, or TB? I'm not going to mess with the SC or any of its attachments this go-round, as I need to get my car dependably back on the road. Any advice or information is appreciated.
 
you should have absolutely no problems, the third cat believe it or not is a resonator, and if you replace it with a magnaflow ($90) you will notice the difference. I think wynn carter can port you manifolds for you if he is still doing it and I know he does good work. He gets the collectors out as big as the kooks headers so it is a way better value.
