Hey guys, I'm not sure if any of you have noticed my thread over on the group purchases or not. But for those who are interested I am making more jackashaft pullies. Both in a stock diameter and now a 5% OD unit as well. The GB price will be 125 USD. The #'s are limited, so if you would one, please make sure you contact me.
Also, I have only 6 sets of the underdrive pulley sets left. Once these are gone, thats it. I have held these units for mostly guys in the Ontario chapter, some for over a year. I am no longer going to hold these without payment. The price on these are 300 CDN for the set of 3 pullies. 1st come 1st serve.
I would like to ask all of you guys if have any ideas for "new" or "improved" parts for SCI to look into. This doesn't mean it has to limited to SC's. I'm at a point where I am looking branch out now. I'd like to keep with FORDs for now, and I would to add some parts for the 4.6L's.
thanks,
V6Sprout

I know the mustang guys like smaller blower pullies, there is a guy in Ottawa that makes pullies for all blowers right now, but I can't get a hold of him, I have one of his pullies here for another mustang guy, but my neighbor is looking for a 2.87 Vortech blower pulley. Polished though.
BTW, I think I may try polishing the pullies I got from ya Ryan, I think they would look awesome, then clearcoat them to protect them afterwards :)

Theres a market for the front strut tower brace but nobody seems to listen.. :(

Reason for no one makeing a front strut tower brace is because they do nothing and make it a pain in the @$$ to work on the car.

V6 Sprout, if you would like for me to look at somethign new, send me some pics. We can disduss lots for the mustang corwd.
Charged, I got your PM, I'll make sure your taken care of ;) .
Shoe, as we have talked about, no trouble, just call me when your ready.
xr7rocket, all the stock sets(crank water pump, alt) are sold. I'm not looking at making the full sets agian. I do have some alts that I made extras of.
Jason, and Tom, I'm not to sure why their is no one making the strut tower braces. Maybe as Jason has said. I don't fully think they do that much either. Plus to make them, I need to know how to weld. If they was a "market" for them, I bet they would still be made. Maybe the interest in their, but then when the pirce is made up guys back away. Wouldn't you get the same basic upgrade if you installed a larger diameter front sway bar?

Actually, Ryan, as I understand it, the strut tower brace is supposed to tie both strut towers together so that under heavy lateral loads, the chassis can't flex as much affecting the geometry. They're supposed to improve handling on cars that are prone to flexing through the chassis in the front end.
Our cars are actually pretty well put together in this particular area, and I haven't really heard from any hardcore racers as to whether or not a strut tower brace would lead to more rigidity in the front chassis area. I believe that Steve Pathay had one on his car for a while. I wonder if he noticed any difference at all with or without the brace installed.
I've gotta think that if there were merrits to building/marketing these, they would already be mainstream. This isn't a new concept at all, and I can't believe that no one has thought of it for our cars before now.
The other issue is fitment in our engine bay, and what it does for accessibility to other things. I would rather takes steps to clean up the engine bay, like installing an integral air to water IC beneath an inverted blower so as to get rid of all the IC tube plumbing, and the stock IC. Now, that would really tidy things up! Imagine how much easier it would be to get at the plugs on the driver's side without those IC tubes in the way!
Anyway, this is Ryan's thread, and if he decides to make these things, then that's his business. I'm just offering my opinion, and basically I agree with Jason. I doubt they would provide benefits to justify their cost.
Best regards,
Sean

I did have a Kenny Brown STB on my car for some time. When I installed the brace, about 4 years ago, I "thought" I felt a difference......however, since I have removed it I can honestly say that the car feels and handles the same as when it was on.
The difference that I felt when I first installed it might have been my mind playing tricks on me? Wishful thinking?

Ryan sorry for talking this a little off what you started it to be.
I should have said that they do work some if one could make one that would fit but it's hard with the blower in the way.

I've got a few ideas for ya, Ryan. Next time were together i'll run them by ya'.
I wish I could say they're for the 4.6 crowd, but they're more of an SC thing. Kinda need a blower for the ideas I have for you. Been doing some learning lately.;)
It's nice to see you back in action. I'd like to stir the pot a little.....
Make the rest of the pieces to complete the look under the hood of an SC that already has your pullies!! You know, the p/s pump and tensioners.
Oh, pot, ummm - NO pun intended, or referenced from the potatoe salad comment! Or any OTHER comment.
Disclaimer - The SCCoA/SCCoO do not condone and/or recommend street racing or consuming of potatoe salad while driving. :D

Andrew, looking forward to it. I'd love to hear what you have to say.
Tom, not really......... ;)
I'm going to be making some blower pullies soon. both the 5% and 10% OD sizes. Prices will be realesed once I know how much they cost to make. I hope to beat all of the reatilers for price on this product.

Maybe you can give me a little info here that pertains to some of the stuff I was going to discuss with you....
1) do ALL Eaton's have the same shaft diameter, where the pulley sits? (i'm sure you already see where i'm going with this)
2) have you noticed any difference in belt slippage with any of your (customers') pulleys? Maybe due to the (smaller) diameter?
Ryan A Harris
12-23-2004, 11:57 AM
Andrew, I have only seen and worked with a M90, so I can't be sure if the shafts are the same diameter or not. I have yet to hear about any belt with any combo of SCI pullies. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, if it does, I'm not aware of it. I have had lots of different set ups on my car with no slippage. Well I can use a motorcraft belt(sorry Ed) and will slip with ANY combo of pullies, even the stock steel.
