Hi guys,
I bought a water pump from NAPA life time warranty and replaced on 1/31/03. It is gone today. Ford sells the pump but only 12 months warranty.
Which is the better pump Ford or any other store.

thanks

I had the same thing happen only it was with my starter but they still honored the warranty.I would call the main branch and see what they will do for you!If the company went out of business, I believe NAPA should step up and replace it with a different brand and continue your warranty!Thats what they did with my starter!

What do you meen by "its gone today"?If you purchased it from NAPA and it has a life time warranty just go get a new one from NAPA!Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are trying to say?

Water pump quality is all going to be about the same just check prices.I'm sure you will be getting the exact same thing from the Ford Dealership and the Auto Parts Store!

thanks Chris,
They said they will give me the new one. But I was wondering if I should go with NAPA or Ford part, because it went in two years. I appreciate the advice

thanks

Its probably a rebuilt WP. In that case, you never know how long it'll last even if its from Napa. Although Napa is supposed to have better parts. I bought a new WP from Azone and its held up fine for a couple of years now.

I think the answer is get a new one not a re-manufactured one. Even with lifetime warranties, who wants to keep changing them out. I went through all that crap with a re-manufactured Ford fuel pump on my wife's Escort GT - who cares about the lifetime warranty if it doesn't come with lifetime labor to replace it. I changed hers' out about 5 times and finally bought a new one. Anyway I also hear that you should get a 1994 water pump, as it was improved over earlier models.
Hope that helps.

Thanks guys,
The NAPA pump was a new one not a remanufactured, any way I went with the Ford pump, difference is just $30. If any one want a new NAPA PUMP, let me know.
thaks
