I am no expert, but I did a lot of research before I replaced all 4 of my shocks. As usual, my budget was low. I wanted Koni shocks and Suspension Techniques lowering springs. That would have been much more money than I had, or wanted to spend. I ended up buying KYB shocks from shocks.com. They are non-adjustable, so your ARC (firm/auto) will not work. That's OK with me, I always left it in FIRM anyways. KYB and shocks.com will say that these shocks will not work on a SC without major modification. All that means is do not reinstall the ARC actuators.
I am very happy with the KYB shocks. They are firmer than the FIRM setting with the original shocks.
