Hey Miles! How did it go while you were here? Hope it went well.
I know you can do it. What I want to know is if it's worth it? Have you noticed any kind of gains from it? Also, did you have you stuff coated outside only, or outside and inside (especially on the blower)? Are your tubes and other parts cooler when you touch them?

Good call, Brian. That is exactly who will be employed if the decision is made to do it. It's close, convenient (especially with a TO pick up/drop off) and the price is right. I've contacted him before about a past project of mine and he seems like a good guy to deal with.
What we're looking for is more information about the top-end only. No internal work, although it is tempting. We've seen many company's testimonials about their product, but we're looking for testimonials (as you've provided) and independent testing. Really, the idea is to find out if the cost of time and money will justify disassembling the entire blower and sending it to him, and then re-assembling and installing it. Obviously the intake manifold is a "clean and coat" deal.
Fair to say that you're not thinking that this would be worthwhile with what is planned/questioned?

not for a performance gain
One other thing you must be careful the heat must go some wear
Doing the inside components is great it runs cooler less friction he has a another mixture for pistons for nitrous applications lots of nitrous
But external parts is like chrome it keeps the heat in. yes things are cooler to touch but the heat has to get out ?

Is Fireball the same type of coating as Jet Coat in the US?
I have some exhaust parts to do. Are they the best coater in Ontario-Southern Ontario.
Thanks :)

Redfox - I can't comment on wether or not Fireball compares to Jet-Hot or not, or even if they are "the best" in our province. I've heard people talk about them and have always mentioned good things in the past. This is why I ask now. Fireball is the only company I know in Ontario - period. Doesn't say much, know what I mean?
Brian P - yes, this is exactly what i'm also trying to look into. We'll probably give them a call and see what they have to say about our application.
We don't possibly sare to ceramic coat the blower-case internals - that's asking for problems. Same would go with the rotors. On chip, which is inevitable, is all it could take to ruin everything. The focus is on the external. I've always wondered about this and everyone seems to think ceramic coating is superior for heat-rejection. Well, I must be missing something, because it seems to do the exact same thing as polishing - which everyone seems to think is bad "because it keeps the heat in". What we're looking for is merely the real-world effects, not provided by a biased (read: coater) opinion, and how beneficial they may be.
BTW - I feel I must correct you on one thing - if what they claim is true, then it IS a performance gain. Think about it. ;)

Andrew
Best to call fire ball on the technical end of it he would be better to give advice then I
I understand what you mean it make sense I am going of my experience only
Red fox Yes it is the same as jet-hot they were the first
I told mark it sounds like a few guys from the club will be calling him
As far as other guys in Ontario doing this there is a few now
The guy in Windsor was the first he was vary expensive he had the market but is cheaper now
I spoke to him a few years ago got a quote then when he received the headers he said sandblasting and cleaning was another $75
They were new used 3 months I wasn?t imprested
Fireball dose not charge extra even brand new headers or anything to be coated have to be prepped if there vary rusty he will want to charge something for the time
Also be careful Some guys water down the chemicals used to save $$ fireball dose not
Fireball also dose all the coating for performance improvements and has one of the best polishers I have ever seen
Hope this helps some guys give mark a call

Redfof - am I to interpret your avatar as actually currently owning a Lightning? I ask for an important reason. (nothing to do with the Forum)

Yes I do own a 2000 Lightning and I'm an original owner of a 1989 SC. I bet there aren't too many of those around. For some reason I can't seem to get rid of the old bird. It's currently my daily driver. I took my bird to the Oakville event last summer and I had my Lightning at the Fine Ford Show and Shine.
