View Full Version : Sealing SC top and plenum ?

I know many people use RTV to seal the top and the plenum to the SC. Would those spots be better to use teflon tape or does anybody use anything else to seal it with? I just thought I would see what others use to seal the top and plenum, as I am going ot order the IC gaskets from tbird88 for the IC tubing. Thanks again guys, Austin

Last time I had my blower top off, I resealed it with ultra copper in the aerosal can. Made for a nice even layer that didn't squeaze out all over the place. As far as the plenum, my gasket set I bought when I did the head gaskets came with a gasket for the plenum which I also coated in ultra copper.

I just use blue RTV on the SC top. I have never had the plenum off so I cant help you there.

So continue to use the RTV? I thought it would be better to use the tape for the top and plenum cause they are "flat" surfaces to join. OK, Thanks for the help guys. Austin

I use a thin layer of Permatex copper RTV (orange) for both surfaces.
