Cracked Ground Wire...

I'm about to take the ground wire off of my alternator, and the rubber around it is all cracked...

I guess I'm just asking for a suggestion on how to remove it without it cracking?

And, if it does end up cracking, how difficult is it to find another one (aftermarket, Ford etc..)

Be careful with that "ground" wire, since it is LIVE from the battery. The alternator grounds through the bracket.

Some of those HELP displays in the larger automotive store might have a similar rubber cover.

I have the neg. cable off, so I should be ok I think....
