View Full Version : Installing a air fuel ratio guage?

Im installing a air fuel ratio guage from autometer, my problem is where do i hook up the wire thats going to the computer to giuve me the readings, i dont know where to hook it up please help guys.Its a 95 cat with the 3.8

go to Autometer's website. You can click on your gauge and instructions and drawings will pop up.

Ya i have the directions, i just dont know what wire to tap in to from the eec so if ne one knows please let me know.

A/F Gauge and wire connections

Drivers Side 02 Sensors (Monitoring)
Red Wire - (+) Positive
Black Wire - (-) Negative
Purple Wire - (EEC Pin# 43)(Tan/White Stripe)

Passengers Side 02 Sensors (Monitoring)
Red Wire - (+) Positive
Black Wire - (-) Negative
Purple Wire - (EEC Pin# 44)(Tan/Orange Stripe)

This was for a 1992, Thats what autometer told me, It worked in my 92 when I installed mine. Hope it works for you Mike

Not to burst your bubble but the autometer gauge doesnt really do much since its not a wideband o2 sensor. If you want something more accurate look into a wideband o2 unit, only drawback is that they run around $300.

But at least you know if your getting enough fuel when you hammer it. The only thing its really good for is to see if it gos to the rich side, haha, but a wideband would be 100% more accurate. and your welcome, later Mike

I got the guage too, did you hook the wire off the sensor or where would you tap into the ECC wire?
