Got a friend that was messin' around with some muffler tape and...oh nevermind.

I was messin' around with some muffler tape and went ahead and applied some to a hood strut. Came out somewhat decent, looks darn good from 10-20 feet away...in the rain...at night...
Nah, it's really pretty cool stuff but then I grabbed some thinwall aluminum pipe and sliced it lengthwise. Polished it up and then worked it onto another strut and then polished a few spots I had missed. Installed it and it looks a lot better.

1st pic is obvious, it's the tape version. Looks a little dull but it's not, 10-15 people handled it so it just needs a little wax.

2nd & 3rd pics are the pipe version. Snazzetto huh?

You just can't stop polishing, can you? :D

You're going to pop the hood on Lola and blind everyone with all that shiny aluminum under there. (If you're putting all these polished parts on Lola)

wynn's gonna need a disclaimer before he pops his hood that says "Not responsible for damage to eyes from prolongued exposure to the engine bay." ;)

Moses

-RodJust piddlin' with stuff, a lil dab here and there, ain't no way I'll ever reach the same level of blingness as Ricardo or Nettles and the rest of 'em.
Actually, Lola is good for local business. I live on the southside and stoppin' at the store or carwash calls for poppin' the hood on occasion. People check 'er out, sometimes draws a small gathering because she's a THUNDERBIRD and then I hand out business cards for Koko's. They don't always understand that IT'S NOT A "TURBO" but that's cool too.

I could be on to sumthin'. these strut covers might sell like hotcakes locally. Not because they're polished but because they exist in the first place (did I say that right?).

Knock it off Wynn. ;)Hey, wanna see my custom IC pipes? One runs from the raised top to the lower tank via the downtube siamesed on the side of the double IC, the return pipe hooks to the top tank and heads straight to where the lower tube used to hook up at the discharge plenum.

C'mon, it's only $ http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/devil.gif

Thanks. I'm a trashdigger from way back, neighbor right across the street from me threw it away so I grabbed it. They were gonna be tubes for my plexiglass intercooler but I needed one of those "stress-reliever sessions" so... :p

Ace Hardware/True Value Hardware in this area also sells thinwall tubing, not sure why. They also stock extruded strips of various widths & thicknesses, that's what I used for the aluminum safety latch release thingy for the hood that I made.
