Driving home seems long today, I know what must be done.
The Supercoupe just wants to play and have a little fun.
But snow is in the forecast, and ice is on the lake,
And thoughts that cross my mind are more than I can take.
I open up the throttle and hear the SC whine,
Winding turns are straightened, and hills fall far behind.
Another year has come and gone, some 20,000 miles.
Emotions battle deep within me, both sadness and smiles.
I pull into my driveway, turn the key and shut her down.
Walk towards the house, pause, and turn around.
The memories come flooding now, of every drive I took.
And how it felt behind the wheel, the sounds, the feel, the look.
The truck I drive tomorrow will seem so out of place.
What's going on, this can't be me. (Hope no one sees my face.)
It shakes and rolls, the ride is bad, the bodies shot from rusting.
But my SC deserves a rest, I'll return to her next spring. :)
