Just seeing if anyone has a borla cat-back kit or mufflers. I'm doing my exhaust for the 4th time now and looking for a good sound again. I have been using dynomax muffs but I'm going to try something different.
So far the exhaust is long tubes, no cats, dual 2.5", magnaflow resonator, 3.5" center section, dual 2.5", into dual muffs....
Like I said, I figured on getting some borla's in there, but Not sure how they'd sound or which model from borla to put in there. I know they make the pro xs, and the xr-1 sportsman, and the xr-1 turbo muffler. All are stainless and straight through. To sum it all up...just looking for your inputs on the sound or borla muffs on our cars as I do not want a ricer or that v6 drone.
My other thought was to see if i could get the actual mufflers that are used in their cat-back kit. But as I stated earlier, I'm not sure how they sound, their inlet specs, or model.
Hopefully someone can help me out here. Thanks guys.

I have the borlas on mine, their the 18" ones with center inlet and outlet. Paid about $100 for each and I wouldnt buy any other muffler. I love the way they sound and look since they dont get all rusty.

I might look into getting the borla muffs that are actually made for our cars. They come with the tips and the hangers attached. I just hope they flow as good as the straight through borla muffs. These are the muffs that i mean.

I can give you a sound clip if yelling through the downtubes is ok :p :) . My engine is out since im doing my heads and cam this winter, so once its all back together in the spring I can get you a sound clip. Trust me you will love the borlas, I would never buy another muffler for my sc.

i just checked out that system and its way out of my price range. lol. sides, all i would need are the mufflers and tips. they look sharp. but which mufflers are the ones? i see xr-1 and xs. and this is the second time ive heard they sound good on the birds so im leaning in that direction.

From what I remember also, Borla only makes the system for the new style gas tank. So unless you have the newer style or plan to change to it the borla catback will not work.

ya i have the new style tank but I was only looking for those muffs if they sell them separately. This is just to ease installation since they will fit nice in the stock spots.

I have a pair of the Borla 40653 2-1/2" at the back of my car, a 3-inch intermediate pipe splitting into them, with a 14221 Magnaflow for a resonator in front of that. Sounds pretty good IMO, not too loud. Apparently it drones a bit in the back seat on a long trip, but I wouldn't know that first-hand. :p
cheers,
