Worn Coupler or Serious Issue

Last night as I was driving the T-bird home the blower was really rattling. Sounded like marbles being shot. Then the car idled rough and then died. Then the car would turn over but just bareley under a fully charged battery. Could the blower coupler mentioned here http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55087 be what is keeping my motor from turning over freely?
Thanks
Randy

Rod bearing

I may be wrong, but it sounds more like a connecting rod bearing let go. I had the same symptoms with my 89. I agree with removing the blower belt, the engine will start fine without it. Good luck, JJ

OK. The motor is toast. Looks like the restoration process will begin sooner than I had hoped.. Thanks for the advice.
