Not sure that there is a way to cheat, other than not having it there in the first place. You'll have to pull the main belt off anyways. Since the main belt is off now, for 5 more minutes work, you can pull the P/S pulley and there you go, access to the 2 bracket bolts on the pump, and two nuts/washers on the W/P Pump and the bracket is off.
Some people after pulling that bracket, they don't put it back on, but I think it should be put back on. I mean how many times are you going to remove your W/P? And a little extra bracing on the P/S Pump aint going to hurt anything.
