auto trans problem question

Not a T-bird but my wife's Sebring convertible.

When it is real cold out, like now, when she first starts it up, it will hang up in neutral sort of, at least not go into gear for maybe 10-15 seconds. This goes away shortly after driving it just a little bit like around the block. It only does it when real cold. The fluid level is fine.

We have 90k miles on it and it had had the fluid and filter changed as required.

any clue as to what might be going on?

thanks

Ron

I was going to say check the fluid level, but you already did that. Just be sure you checked it on level ground with the trans warmed up and the engine running. My AOD does this also unless I keep the fluid topped off. It has a small leak.

Can you find out what condition the old fluid was in and what residue was found in the pan?
