Anyone ever install a winsheild in the birds or is it best left to the pro's?

Leave it to the pro's and you'll be much better off. Make sure you deal with a trusted shop that uses OEM glass. Windshield's aren't very expensive for these cars, so do yourself a favor and don't even think about putting a used one in!

Due to a 15" Resonant engineering XXX subwoofer and a huge ported box, my windshield has a big crack in it. I went to a local shop and was quoted 275$ for the glass + installation. What prices have you guys gotten? Is this a normal quote?

You may be able to get it done free, depending on your insurance. If you have a $250 deductible, and the windshield is cracked/damaged, some places will do the job and not charge you the deductible. (Basically they bill the insurance company for the job, and that's it, they don't collect the $250. I guess there is still enough profit for them.) I got mine done this way a few years ago.
