As I was putting my sons new booster seat in the car today, it occurred to me that having them in the car might not seem as threatning to others that might want to race. Not that my car is fast by no means, but I just can't imagine a hot cutie pulling up next to me, seeing the child seats and still saying "hey, nice car".

Anyone else have child seats in their SC and has it had any affect on how others look at your car?

It really doesn't matter what they think, just me being curious I guess.

Two words: Chick Magnet!

Like going to the mall without my Wife and just the kids in the stroller....Chick magnet, like a puppy in the park!

I had a baby seat in the back of mine for a month or so. I took it out because the leather is wearing out just fine without the added help of a baby seat :D

Yup, I've got a nice child seat in the back seat. I'm not too worried about it though. If someone wants to race me bad enough they can meet me at the local track. I keep the racing confined to there. Although there was a guy yesterday who must have been threatened by me. I wasn't accelerating fast at all, but it just happened to be at the same speed as him for a couple lights...the third he took off...probably thinking it a kill... I had my 3 kids in the car...so no racing...

I've got that seat, except is doesn't say "Simpson" on it...And I paid a lot less for it! Unfortunately, that seat is in the trailblazer as that is the vehicle my youngest is in most often.

Regardless of whether i have a child seat in the back or not (which i haven't in many years- my daughter is 18), i am very amazed by the challenges i get only when i drive the SC. i'm usually not provoking anyone to a race, but it seems to always be those big suv/trucks where i live that drive silly like and look goofy trying to out accelerate me all the time. Frankly i think it's outright dangerous how they drive those things imo. it's also very annoying to me.

Several yrs. ago one of the gear head rags had an article about dropping a DOHC Cobra motor in a Grand Marquis (pre-Marauder). Anyway they had a baby seat recovered with the same material as the interior. They even had a "safety label" sewn into the back of the baby seat. It said, "My Dads car, will kick your dads cars A$$"!!!!!!!!

On a side note, several yrs ago I was going to build a '67 XR-7 convertible. Was gonna be Pink & have several Pink Panthers airbrushed on the car. I have a HUGE & Large Pink Panther stuffed toys. I was gonna put the HUGE one in a booster seat, & the Lg. one in a baby seat. I thought it would be really cool at car shows. Unfortunately I sold the car before I could complete it. To many cars, not enough time & money!!!!

Yeah, I got a baby seat in mine. I'm not too embarrassed. Anyone who frowns OBVIOUSLY is not a parent. I just tell them to afford two kids for over 3 years, and have a third child (wife) live off of you and then we'll race. By then, whatever they had would have to have been turned/traded in for something more family like. Hee hee. But, there isn't anything anyone could say to make me feel bad about it. I couldn't have fathomed that my children were going to blow my hobby of the SC so far out of the water. I really feel bad for my SC; she definately isn't getting as much attention as I would like to give her. But, the kids will leave sometime, and then the SC will get what she deserves.

I like this seat also.

I guess no one could see the kid seats in my car, but then again I don't worry about UV rays affecting anyone who rides in my back seat.

Yeah, we had two kids when I got mine and then she got pregnant with the 3rd right after I got it.

If I had known it was going that way, I'd have probably gotten something else. So even after having it for a year and a half, I still wonder what people think about having a child seat in that type of car.

It doesn't bother me, because you have to drive what you have to drive. Mine too, won't get all the extra attention now, but maybe later there will still be time and money for it.
