My AOD lost the OD back in 2000 on the trip from Charleston SC to San Jose CA. Iv'e been debating AOD repair or 5 speed swap. Checked a local junk yard, they had a 5 speed SC. If any one is in the Bay Area of CA, Pick n Pull has 3 SC's, one still has the long block. Their motors run about $150.00. Anyway I got the trans, cross member, clutch pedal, flywheel, press plate and disc, master and slave cyl, drive shaft, plastic insert for console for $260.00. Console itself damaged. My SC is an anniversary model. The parts are out of an '89. I had a few questions;
Will I have a problem with my computer ie. idle speed?
Is there anything I should replace on the manual trans before install?
Does anyone know a good source for the slave cylinder?
Does anyone see anything missing from the above part list that I will need aside of the pilot bearing?
How do I go about re calibrating the speedo for the different rear ratio?
Thanks
Mike

You are gonna need a 5 speed computer as far as I know.

Parts stores should carry the slave cylinder.

Recal the speedo by changing the speedo gear in the tailshaft of the trans. You can get them from Supercoupe Performance.

I'm pretty sure that the 5-speed computer was only different for 94-95 SCs. The 89-93 will work with either trans because the AOD is not electronic. I have read here that there is a plug ususally found behind the radio that will have to be plugged into the 5-speed trans.

the timing was different , and i think a few sensors were different and the rev limiter was different too, oh and the speed limiter

dont need a new computer, sounds like you have everything you need, but you need the rubber grommet that goes around the shifter. Any questions let me know, I did the same thing on my 35th last year. It would be best to replace the clutch and resurface the flywheel. At a minimum replace the slave cylinder.

I have an unused hydraulic line, master cyl to slave cyl, that I'd be willing to sell. It is missing 1 o'ring that I had to use from it but otherwise is perfect. I bought it thinking mine was bad but it was OK. This line sells for about $80 new from Ford but I'll let it go for much less if you need it.
