carbon cannister by the passenger side

a vacuum line going to it is busted at the canister and point of origin which I don't know where that is...will this cause problems and if so where is the point of origin so i can fix it

The line runs from the fuel tank to the charcoal canister. The label near the radiator shows this but it is hard to decipher. If this line is disconnected, then fuel vapor in the fuel tank will vent into the atmosphere instead of being routed to the intake.
