Lower IC tube

I have no idea why they are there Doug, just another one of those bizarre things Ford done. I havent looked up in mine for a long time so I do not remember if they go all the way through. Have a look with a flashlight or something. That tube is pinched in pretty bad and its just another one of the engine chokers you and I have been talking about. You'de be better off building yourself a new tube with different routing if you can handle that.

Runners in Lower IC Tube

The "runners" in the lower IC tube are there to create a greater rate of flow as to balance the air flow as it make the turn to the intake. If you remove them, you create a low pressrue side of the air flow stream, and turblance will reduce flow. Think of the runners as acting like a gutter for water, it directs the flow. Without them, water puddles.
