SC Speaker types?

I would like to know what type of speakers my 1992 SC needs. My front right speaker is making this high pitched whistle that changes pitch whenever I accelerate. It is really anoying. Thr Ford mechanic told me he was going to charge me 90 dollars just to figure out the problem, so I decided just to get new speakers instead.

I just need to know what type of speakers I need as well as what size. I also want to get a sub and an amplifier. If anyone can help me with this I would be so happy.

This is what I am considering buying so far:

I am trying to purchace all my sound equipment off of www.overstock.com They have awesome prices and if anyone sees anything there that I need, please tell me.

5x7's in the doors and in the rear. You can find some ford/mazda sized 6x8's that will fit.

I have kicker impulse two ways in the front and pioneer 3 ways in the rear.

do you have an aftermarket radio in it right now?if you do, chck the ground wire make sure it has a good connection.or if the rca wires are running next to the power wire it could be picking up some noise from the altinater, thats only if you have an amp though

The noise is probly caused by the radio noise filter gone bad. Its mounted right on the coil pack on the back right bolt. You can see it from the top of the pack.

Yeah, this is typical alternator whine, from the sound of it. There are many different things that can cause it, so you might as well just check this out:

If basic fixes fail, you can run some inline caps on the power input like they mention on there. That is sort of a shoddy fix, though.

5x7 is the same as 6x8.
as far as your speaker choices from Overstock, i wouldn't buy any of those myself. in fact, they didn't have much of a selection at all. you can find other good deals besides those on Overstock. i would suggest looking for some discounted speakers some place else. just try to stick with a quality brand. but if you do decide to splurge, the Eclipse Point Source Intergrated Components are the best you can get for under $200 a pair.

thankyou

Thankyou so much. This link is extreemly clarifying. This fix though... Do you know if it is expensive to get fixed.
