the fact that you had to sell your car to a female driver

or

you see it driving and they sold it and now its all smashed up

or

you stumble across your old car in a junkyard

sorry about the randomness :(

I dont see what is depressing about selling a car to a woman. I dont think any of them are depressing. Once its out of my posession I really dont care either way what the new owner does with it. Maybe if I really loved the car and was forced to sell it for monetary reasons and then later saw it all bashed up. I do have a similar story. My brother had an '84 Cutlass Supreme. It was cherry. Brand new dark metallic blue paint job, perfect interior, new exhaust and suspension parts, and a fresh engine and tranny rebuild. He liked the car but decided he wanted something newer so he sold it and bought my mom's 93 Tbird LX (4 years old at the time.) I would have bought the Cutlass, but was in college and didnt have cash. Just A few months later, we were driving through town and saw a cutlass that kind of looked like his. We got closer and realized it was his old car. It was beat up pretty bad. Trim pieces missing off the doors, bashed in fenders, you name it. Pretty much the whole car was torn up, so it likely wasnt the result of one accident, it looked like the result of months of hard abuse. I wasnt too happy about that, since I had wanted to buy it, but couldnt.

I'm going to say seeing my car in the junkyard would be the most upsetting. At least if it's driving around and all beat up, someones still using it, and one day it might be restored.
