This is to let everyone know we have a date for the OH meet so plan your work schedule.

Saturaday 16th Test & Tune at 12PM at the track then Cook out at Lazzo's

Test and tune just means that there isn't an actual racing format being used and you can't be eliminated if you lose. You just get out there and make some runs down the track....it's really a lot of fun.

I think it would be GREAT if you could attend.

Just curious why the 2 hotels? I doubt I will be able to make it Friday night since I will have just completed taking the 8 hour Professional Engineer license test, I'm not sure if I will be up for the drive. Anyway, just curious about the hotels.

Lazzo you know ill be there man, and the rest of the Dayton crew. My car will be done by then seeing as how were having a big dyno day the weekend before over in the Bus. Ill be there for sure guys.

If anyone needs more hotel info let me know I work at 2 in the Dayton area and my Hampton location in Springboro has about 25 rooms available right now, I can swing a decent discount if enough people need rooms and we also have an indoor pool. Either PM me or have Lazzo get ahold of me.

Cant wait to meet some of you SC guys.....

I chose the Holiday Inn Dayton for Saturday Because they have a awsome
court yard inside and if the weather is bad it would be a great place to just
have a get together They have indoor pool, hotTubs, bar, pool tables.
They are sold out for Friday though but have rooms Saturday.

If people rather stay at the Friday night hotel both nights please fill free to
do so it's not a big deal.

Cool. I'll talk to some other my friends with GTP's and see if they wanna come too. From personal experience, tri-state would probably be better than edgewater, traction wise and can easily get more runs in at tri-state.
From my experience and knowledge, I think that edgewater is a better track since it is an NHRA track, on fridays atleast. Our SuperStocker likes that track alot. Tri-State is also a good track, but not as cool. Any will do. I need to get some traction tires before this meet comes.

Yeah, either would do. I'll say I have been to edgewater more than tri-sate. Track I go to the most would be kil-kare. Sometimes traction there isn't the best either but its closer to home. Best track I've ever been to would be Norwalk. They spray so much traction compound, if you walk out onto the starting line you literally have to rip your shoes off the ground. We have a grand prix/monte carlo 3.8 race there once a year.

As for good tracks, the best points race track i've been to was Joliet, Illiniois or Route 66 Dragway. When i stepped on the staging lanes my shoe got stuck and my foot came out of it then i stepped on the ground and my sock got stuck on the track also and had to take my sock off.

As for a National event, the U.S. Nationals here at Indianapolis Raceway Park, is by far the best starting line you can get. Except for the tuesday night street legal drags where people tear off the rubber on the track with street tires and ricers drive through the water boxes.

I go to Indy every year for the U.S. Nationals to watch, and that track is a very nice facility. I've never been there for a tune and test or anything but wouldn't mind venturing out there sometime. Yeah, blame on it the ricers to mess things up for good traction. They use to have street legal drags at kil-kare but I guess not alot of people showed up so they stopped having them. The very first time they introduced it though, it was packed as could be and losts of fun.

National Trail over in Columbus is one of the best in the area, never raced at Indy, but im sure it is as good as the Trails seeing as how they have an NHRA event every year, and an NMRA event, Fbody ........and the list goes on.

And the reason the Street Legal drags ended up failing up to be a flop after the first event they had was because Daytons "street racing scene" is a joke. Most of the local boards all people do is bench race and have nothing to back it up. And the ones that do talk smack just to instagate a race. Cincy and Columbus laugh at anyone from Dayton because all most people are is a big joke...... Oh well thats Dayton for ya. There are plenty of fast street cars, but if you want to race you go someplace other than Cincy, oh yea, anyone up for a run down to middletown on friday or sat nights????? there are ways of "making some cash" if you got what it takes.

Trails is pretty nice too, I've been there for two of the grand prix races we had before it was moved to Norwalk. One year traction was really good, next year wasn't the best. I haven't been to it lately though ever since they redid the track, probably should make it out there some time. Yeah, I've been to a few of the street racing dayton cruise-ins before. Lots of rice, all show and no go and some cars you are trying to figure out what they are even doing there. Me and my friends are usually the only W-Body cars there. I've heard about the racing that goes on in middletown. I think I wouldn't mind going there once I get my smaller supercharger pullies and get tuned right with the injectors.

I have found that the Trails are the best leading into the Pontiac Nationals in July, they have all spring to get the track ready and they work hard hard hard at it, and have NMRA test it out and make sure they are ready for the big boys. Now after July and NHRA is done, they do what they can to maintain it and not like for NHRA. Now seeing as how this year they moved up the Pontiac Nationals and moved NMRA back to the Ford Expo in September it will be intresting to see how well the track does later i nthe year when NMRA finnaly gets to the Trail.....

Wel I think we should still roll down to Middletown and check out whats happening on Sat night down there on our way back from Edgewater or tristate...... and see whats up. Always a good time in Middletucky

At our power levels, pretty much any track will do. It's not like this is some serious race meet....were just going to be goofing around and making some test and tune type passes.

They have bout 15-20 rooms left down at the Hampton Inn, they are all suites. They norammly go for about 100+ tax, now If I can get a comitment from you guys I can get a pretty good deal ,but I dont want to mess up anything Lazzo has setup at the Holidome........ If anyone WOULD like to stay there anyway PM me and Ill get you a reservation setup there. Just let me know what you guys want to do.

Usually in the summer time when it is nice out, you can bet any time after 9pm on a friday or saturday night......there are people down there in this one parking lot. The best part about middletown is the fact that all the roads down there are 4 lane divided parkways.......... pretty decent and straight......... In fact I have heard even like when its nice out now even though its cool and cold people show up down there from time to time. But in the summer, there are people down there ALLL the time.

Yeah, I've heard about what goes down at Middletown too. Last year me and some friends went to the very first tune and test at Edgewater (hard to believe last year that time it was sunny and in the 60's by the end of february) and stopped in Middletown on our way back to eat since one of the guys that was with us, his brother-in-law is the manager at the Ryans Steakhouse there so we got free food. We saw alot cars out that night and he was talking about all the street racing that goes on there. It has to be better than daytons street racing scene. Seems like all those people wanna do is fight whenever you go to a cruise in.

I just got off the phone with the Holiday Inn Dayton (Holidome place) and they do have rooms blocked for SCCoA for Friday and Saturday night. I asked her to double check, because we were told they were sold out for Friday the 15th. She said they do have rooms reserved for SCCoA for both nights. She couldn't say how many rooms, but said it was whatever amount that you blocked.

Anyhow, I'm booked for Friday and Saturday and there seems to be several rooms still avalible for both nights.

Got a garage full of parts with an SC elevated in the middle...

I'll be there if I can get the gears swapped and the diff back in, the entire exhaust system back in, the fuel tank back in with a new pump and filter, the new calipers and pads installed, the upper A arms replaced, the oil leak found and fixed, the ignition switch and multi switch swapped, fresh fluids all around, and so on.

Might happen...

Well, I may be out for racing. I went out to kilkare tonight and on my only run, cae started stuttering really bad and the top end and on the return lane was misfiring really bad. Well, forgot the tools at home so I had to drive back to get into things. Pulled my plugs and found out I had popped piston #3. So now, tommorrow, have to go out to columbus and get new pistons at a great deal, new fuel pump, filter, install the injectors I have sitting around and tune it, making sure I don't lean out so bad and pop more pistons. Man, this sucks. I really have to work fast cuz its my daily driver and our grand prix race weekend is 5 weeks away so no time to waste.

Im gonna run my first 2-3 runs like a normal night at the track, letting her cool down and stuff, see what the car really has since this will be the first time to the track with the new motor. THEN

After im satisfied, hell with it, ima hot lap it as many times as possible before it gets too hot........I say we run 3 in a row and see who has the fastest avg time, fastest time wins........2 bucks from each competitor???? Any takers???? just wondering.

More than likley its gonna be just a straight tree........once the stage lights are lit, both sets come down. I would bet they would charge us more for the track if they had to punch in dial-in times.

Im not proud and I have no shame, if someone wants to get a jump on me off the line Ehh, I dont care good ol day of racing is what im up for.

If you want to dyno your car, but don't need or want tuning, it's $75 for 3 pulls and we will schedule this for Friday morning. Please post or email me if you want this! mdkracing@alltel.net

Dyno tuning will commence at 11am. Expect roughly 1hr per car, and dyno time is $100/hr. I will be tuning as well as Carson from Forced Fab who has a lot of experience with forced induction V8's. We are both SCT tuners and will both be available all afternoon. We can reburn existing SCT chips or you may purchase a chip from Cammers on the day of the tune.

I will add shop addresses later today.

As a side note, Forced Fab also offers the complete line of Innovative Motorsports WB02 and datalogging equipment. Link (http://www.forcedfab.com/index.php?cPath=53_54) If you are considering a WB02 they will a) have it in stock b) offer a special price for us and c) install the O2 bung for you while you wait. Something to keep in mind.

Well, I should be there to race now, got the piston changed out over the weekend and got the injectors in. Now time to install the fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel pump hotwire kit, scan, and tune it to make sure I am not leaning out bad to where I pop pistons more. I should be there racing saturday now. I think I won't have a problem getting the rest of the stuff in by then.

What kind of dyno is it BTW? Mustang, Jet, or what? How late will you guys be there on friday???? I possibly cant make it till late in the afternoon.

Certianly....everyone was a novice at one time. BTW, you can't possibly be any worse of a driver than I am.

........I say we run 3 in a row and see who has the fastest avg time, fastest time wins........2 bucks from each competitor???? Any takers???? just wondering.

Nitrous does a real good job of cooling the intake charge, so mine isn't gonna get much slower.
