Seems like some sort of tranny problem

Off the line, my car doesn't have the same pickup it did.
Also, the car seems to miss the shift from 1st to 2nd or it
goes from 1st to 2nd very quick, then it will start to rev up
high if you keep on the pedal. Someone told me it may be the
accumulator springs. I'm clueless as to what it may be.
If anyone has any ideas as to what it may be, any and all
replies and e-mails would be greatly appreciated.

My email is TBirdSCmakaveli@aol.com

Thank you all, Pierre

tranny woes

sounds similar to mine, my trans is fubar too at the moment.

how many miles??? the chances that your accum. springs are 'tired' is rediculous. who told you that, a trans place?? get another opinion.
My best idea from what you wrote, would be the Torque Converter. Ask around and find a good place. they will be able to test it (ie driving/ line pressures/etc)

besides if i'm correct, the accumulators are only there to make shifting easier (smoother). so if the springs were bad, it would be hard shifting, but would still hit them on time.

BTW, while the trans is getting work, spend a bit and get a shift kit. I got TransNGo. I like it. There are others though.
