How hard is it to remove the rear upper control arms? Also, how much should one pay for a used pair? Any advise guys?

Thanks,

Mercy

there not hard to change just need to be easy on the inside bolt since you can not get them from ford at all. As for buying a used arm save your money un less there vary new. Because the Inside bushing goes and thats what needs to be changed out.

Is the inside bushing serivcable? I have not even looked at mine. If it is, that would be good to do in the LX since she is apart.

Bushings....

If the bushing is no longer avail from ford is it possible that there is an aftermarket bushing in a poly. or something like that? What do you do if you find you need new ones???

Mark VIII rear upper control arms....

Are the rear upper control arms fom a 1995 Mark VIII alumn, and will they fit a 1995 Thunderbird?

Not sure about the upper arms there Merc. The lower ones are the aluminum ones and ya need a spring perch to level your springs. With the perch and the knuckle attached they are lighter then the LCA from the bird alone.

The upper Mach VIII control arm is made from steel.

And the bolts and nuts for the lower control arm are not sold by FORD
anymore.

I just found out,As I was doing the Mach vIII REAR CONTROL ARM SWAP.
Don't take it appart until you find new nuts and bolts for the lower
control arm.

Good luck,I havent had any.RANDY
