A/C Problems

I got into my car the other day, started it and turned on the ac. Within minutes of driving, I started hearing this loud belt squeal and then smoke began rolling out from under my hood.
My first reaction was that my compressor had seized so I turned off the ac, and pulled off the road, lifted the hood and noticed this green fluid sprayed all over my intake tube.
Im assuming that these compressors have a pressure release valve and that this green fluid is from inside compressor. Any idea what would cause this to happen?
I just used the a/c less than a week ago and it was working perfectly, then yesterday happened and Im ready to burn this car.
The compressor is only 2 years old and i just had a new dryer and liquid line installed and had the system flushed and recharged about 8 months ago.
Any ideas?
