Powder Coating involves hi-temps. Those hi-temps will change the diamentiions of the case. That change in diamention will most likely cause your rotors to crash.

ESM knows how to powder coat SC's.

To powder coat anything, you're gonna have to take it apart. I did mine and it turned out perfectly. I didn't coat the rotor plate, but instead I sanded it down to look like brushed aluminum which I also did on the i/c tubes. Looks good.

If you don't want to take it apart, give it a good degreaseing, sand it down very well, and then paint it. Just be sure to mask it off really well so junk doesn't get into the s/c.

paint vs. powder coat

Powder Coating is more durable, but you'll need to "re-diamention" your case.

Painting the case doesn't involve ANY diamentional instability.
