differences

Might be stupid but whats the difference between turbo charged and supercharged.

A turbo is ran from exhaust gasses, a blower is ran off a belt.

Someone else can probably explain it in depth a little better tho. ;)

:) OK.. both compress the intake air to a much higher pressure, essentially squeezing in 3-4 times the amount of air into each cylinder. More air means more power. In a turbo, a turbine is powered by the flow of hot exhaust gas out of the manifolds. That turbine is connected by a shaft to a compressor on the other side which compresses the intake air. On a supercharger, there is no turbine in the exhaust stream, but rather the crankshaft spins the compressor directly with a belt. The diff is that the SC can be spun up immediately where as the turbo takes a few seconds longer to reach the same compression level. SC is faster off the line because of that. The turbo however consumes much less of the engine power to compress the air and as a result more power is available to the engine..

Thats the basic description.

thanks alot i have 2 cars a 89 xr7 and an 87 conquest tsi turbo and i have 2 sell one just trying 2 choose

look up both forms on the internet you will be able to make a much more informed choice by reading up on both subjects.

Roots superchargers by design do not compress air they only move air from one point to another. The boost comes in because of a backup of air in the system.

Turbochargers actually compress air as do twin screw.
